Camping!

It's true, i've been camping more in the last two years then in all my life. This time though i was able to go with our legendary supervisor's the Cline's. We only went for two days up to Nxai Pan, but that was enough to make some memories. Like Paul Cline doing a 180 turn in some mud and just about tossing me, Reema, and Stacie out of the back of the turck on our game drive! Then what is it about making an outhouse with a long drop built in the middle of some stupid high concrete?! Yeah, i just don't get it. Although no one really believes me, but i really do think i heard some stupid wild animal beside my tent one night! Like i said memories, memoires......i had a blast!!!!

Proof that we really did go camping! In the front (L-R) we have Reema and Stacie. In the back (L-R) is Brandy and me!

Home sweet home! What could be better then being with friends and enjoying the weather and seeing animals.......well for one a dry tent!!! Yes, we had a great time, but Brandy and i had to alternate nights sleeping in the truck!
We where out in the middle of nowhere so we had to go grather our own fire wood. I guess that's not to wired, except taking the picture of Sally getting the wood i did have to be on lookout for lions!! Now doesn't that sound a little strange to you?! haha Never fear though if we would have gotten hurt, we could always count on Sally to help us. Just like she's digging into Brandy's hand with a knife to get a splinter out!!!

Some of the time we could just chill in our tents like Stacie is doing, or play domions the most favorite game of all missionaries anywhere!! Posted by Picasa

Animals!

Now what kind of camping trip would it be if i didn't see any animals out in the "wild of Africa?" So here are a few of the animals we saw during our game drives. Enjoy!

Thanks to Brandy's eagle eyes, and Stacie's big daddy lens i have this awesome picture of the lion!!

Nxai Pan

So on the day that we left, we went out to the Pan's to see the water and the trees, and it was so beautiful. I mean the sky was so blue and the water was great. You would think the water was deep but it wasn't. We saw three little boys playing in it and it just covered their feet. Oh and for all my wonderful friends back home that use to click at me before i left. Well, Nxai does have a sort of clicking sound to it. Just thought i would let you all know that ;-) Posted by Picasa

Wow, just look at these trees they really are something to see. These are called baobab trees and pretty much famous here in Botswana. They are huge, just look at how Sally and i compare with the truck, then with the tree! Posted by Picasa

Easter Rally!

This is the first Easter Rally i've been to, last year i was in Kenya so i missed out. Anyway this is a time for all of the Baptist Churches in Botswana to come together, and when i say all i mean everyone! Usually we have women's meetings and youth rally, but Easter Rally is for the entire church family. So both men and women, youth, and children came together! It was really good, and one night a conga line (well it's what i called it) starated durning worship. Now that awesome!!

Everyone enjoyed coming together, look at the little girls dancing. How cute?!

Easter Rally also provied some prime time for Stacie to learn some new skills!

AMTM!

Oh my gosh, just let me tell you what a wonderful time i had at our mission meeting!!! It was so much fun. It was great fellowship and worship with other like minded believers. I sooooo enjoyed getting feed some really good spiritual food! Even our training sessions where good. Another plus was that we got to meet two new j-girls that have come to work on the Operation:HIV team down in South Africa. So now that makes 10 jounerymen or should i say jounerygirls, in our cluster. Yep don't know where all the boys are......but our supervisors are starting to wonder or is it worry?!? hahahaha......

The 10 most awesome j-girls this side of the Zimstwana cluster!!!!

Good-bye!!

I think one of the most memorable things about our AMTM was the roast or goood bye that was given to the Clines! Paul and Sally each had a persolized song sang to them by some very talented career missy's. I doubt they will ever forget (or forgive..hahaha) all involved. I really do believe they loved it. I know we all had a great time. Even some of the MK's took part in it!! Can you guess who they are trying to be.....yep that would be the famous T-birds from Greese singing to Sally! Paul and Sally

What can i say these guys are great! Paul, is the Operation: HIV coordinator and my work supervisor while Sally does youth work all over the country! They have been missionaries for more then 25 years and are for sure known throughout the mission and the country. I've tried to tell them that they can not leave before me, but they just won't listen to me there going to retire in Aug. I mean what am i going to do without them, it just won't be the same. One important fact that everyone should know, especially all your jounerymen out there. They, Paul and Sally Cline are the reason that we (j-men) are not allowed to date. Why you ask. Well it could be, that when they where j-men in Kenya that "technically" after their term was over they got married!!! Yep, you've all heard of the story of two j-men way back in the day that got hiched and went home married. Well it's true!!! We always tease them about it, and how they messed it up for us, but they say they where just "policy shapers." Anyway they are one of a kind and will be missed!

The one and only Sally and Paul Cline! Our fearless leaders out in the bush camping and awesome friends and support while working. You guys rock!!
